Our BAVPA Arts educators are dedicated to promoting the essential role the arts play in fully educating our students and encourage the students to dig deep into their artistry to show their full potential. This year you will see incredible works of art, breath-taking dances, voices that will lift your spirit, films that will make you laugh and take pause to think, instrumental music that will move you, scenes made by technical theater that will impress you and actors that will transport your with their skills. To kick off the year's worth of wonderful performances, concerts and shows - BAVPA comes together for a multidisciplinary, multi-department showcase called Night of the Living Majors . A not to miss event playing a matinee show on Wednesday, October 23rd at 9:50 AM and an evening show on Thursday, October 24th at 7 PM. In the theater department, Ms. Beuth’s middle school students will be performing Moana Jr . This musical is a "thrilling and heart-warming coming-of-age story that follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage." See it before it's gone! In January, the high schoolers will continue to showcase their skills with Mr. Burns, A Post Apocalyptic Play with incredible reviews. The media department students are producing films to complete in the FBE Indie Short Film Festival hosted at Arts Academy on Wednesday, October 30th from 5:30 to 9:30 PM. Their Media Film Fest Showcase will take place on January 27th with a matinee showing from 9:40 AM to 10:50 AM - see what all the news is about! The music department will kick off the snow with their Winterfest Concert #1 on Wednesday, December 11th at 7 PM. Winterfest Concert #2 will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at 7 PM and a matinee on Wednesday, December 18th at 9:50 AM. Their final Winterfest Concert #3 will be performed on Thursday, December 19th at 7 PM.

The students toured the gallery and then worked in the studio space with Saira Siddiqui on her mural that's going up at Stitch Buffalo. Enjoy the photos of their experience. FAQ Q: When are auditions usually held? A: Auditions usually take place during the months of October and November. Please see your school counselor or visit our website for more information. Martin (Law & Order, RENT, The Irrational), Ani DiFranco (recording artist, founder of Righteous Babe Record label and "Babeville"), Claudine Ewing (WGRZ-TV), Pete Gallivan (WGRZ-TV), Stefan Mychajliw (former TV reporter for WGRZ/WKBW, former Public Relations Officer for BPS), Ramona Thomas-Reynolds (Principal of MLK Multicultural Institute), Jody Covington (Principal at Arts Academy), Carmen Intorre (percussionist/drummer, graduate of Juilliard School of Music), George Davis (current music teacher at Arts Academy), David Riffel (current media communications teacher at Arts Academy), Connor Graham (current theatre teacher at Arts Academy), Nicole Jones (current dance teacher at Arts Academy), and many more. Q: Do you offer accelerated courses? A: Yes. Students invited for participation in our accelerated program take advanced studies beginning in grade 7.
